If you are an employer, the best thing you can do is write a letter on behalf of any immigrant you may have had to reduce hours or let go of during the pandemic. You can find and download a sample letter here.
According to the DOL, there is no penalty for writing a letter.
Further, make sure your employees know about the fund, and direct them to our website for further information and support!
Allies
Many excluded workers are paid in cash or off the books and do not have any documentation to provide for their Work History requirements. Currently, there is no way for them to apply for the fund. Call your legislators and tell them that community members are having this issue, and spread the word!
