CCSM 2025 Member Assembly Results: Democracy is Alive and Well
We are excited to announce the results of CCSM’s 2025 Member Assembly! While democracy is under attack nationwide, we are more committed than ever to building an equitable, diverse and multilingual direct democracy within our organization and on the local and state level.
One hundred and ninety seven members voted in CCSM’s 2025 Membership Assembly. Sixty-eight percent of participants identified as directly impacted, honoring our commitment to directly impacted leadership through participation and our weighted voting system.
Members also voted to prioritize our organizing campaigns and the programs and services we offer in 2026, with highest priorities listed as numbers one.
Top three Organizing Campaigns Priorities
1) Care for Immigrant Families: First in the nation law that guarantees the right to a lawyer for people facing deportation who cannot afford representation and provides funding for legal services
2) New York for All: Prohibits law enforcement and government agencies in New York State from colluding with federal immigration enforcement without a judicial warrant.
3) Dignity Not Detention: Prevents construction of for-profit detention centers in New York, prevents local jails from contracting with ICE to incarcerate immigrants, and ends current contracts to incarcerate immigrants for civil immigration purposes in New York.
Top Three Programs and Service Priorities
1.) Financial Empowerment Workshops: Budgeting Workshop partners with Greylock Credit Union to provide practical tools and strategies for effective budgeting and understanding the US bank system, including building credit.
2) Tu Consejeria Small Group Mental Health and Wellness Sessions: These workshops aim to improve access to mental health resources, tailored to participant and community needs.
3) Wage Theft Webinar: Informs participants of their rights and the steps to take if an employer unlawfully withholds wages; facilitated in partnership with the Worker Justice Center.

The CCSM Member Assembly is when we invite our members to vote for our Board of Directors.
This is a community effort and we would love to see you all there.
What if I am not a member?
If you would like to become a member, you can do so by signing our Statement of Principles and Membership Pledge until the November 17 vote.
