Columbia County Sanctuary Movement host's the region's Annual Latinx Parade and Festival which draws people from across the region into Hudson for a day of celebrating Latinx cultures and businesses.
The climate for celebration is different this year. Since the beginning of the new presidential administration, the same communities that emphasize hard work, family values and cultural connection are being attacked. We have seen a rise in unauthorized ICE raids, kidnapping and disappearing of our members and families that are scared of leaving their homes.
At the request of the community, instead of one large festival we are having 3 indoor events in September and October. We are calling it the Latinx Festival 2025 Tour.
Sunday September 7th - Latinx Tour Family Day at Return Brewing (Hudson NY) - 1-7pm - 2 artists perform, dance classes, clown, face painting and wellness practitioners
Saturday September 20th - Latinx Tour Noche de Baile (Dance party) at The Avalon Lounge (Catskill, NY) - 7pm-1am - 2 artists perform, Dueling DJs dance party afterward
Sunday October 12th - Latinx Tour Concert at Story Screen Cinema (Hudson NY) - 1-4pm - 2 artists perform, 5 art vendors in the lobby
This approach allows us to focus our efforts on member safety and security at the events, while respecting our communities resilience and desire to celebrate despite the circumstances. Our event spaces are allied businesses that support the Movement and will work with our security team to take the proper measures needed to ensure a successful cultural celebration.
